You also get some frills too – a tablet holder above the console, iFit capability and an iPod dock with console speakers.

Proform Power 995 Treadmill Review – The Benefits:

Super Tough 3.0 HP Motor

The dynamically spin-balanced motor easily powers the larger belt for both running and walking workouts. The large-frame Commercial motor cools internal components to increase the life of your drive system.

Plus it’s covered by a lifetime motor warranty to protect your investment.

High 15% Incline

The is the highest incline you can get at this price point – many treadmills around $1000 only give you 12%. The higher incline gives you more room to grow and it’s a great way to work in some extra high intensity training intervals into your workout. You can burn twice the calories walking on a 15% incline as walking on a flat plane so this is a great tool to speed your fitness results.

Extra Long 60 Inch Running Belt

The extra long 20 x 60 inch belt is great for runners or taller users who want to stretch out on the proform 995 treadmill. You won’t feel like you’re bumping up against the end of the belt.

Explore the World with iFit

iFit connects your proform power treadmill to the Internet. From there you can download unlimited new workouts to add some challenge to your workout time. You can also easily track your workouts over time to set new goals and reach new heights. You can also use the Googlemaps feature to plot out and run new trails all over the world. The console screen will then show you the actual landmarks and scenery on the trail you’re running – very virtual reality. Don’t want to plot out your own trail? There are several world-famous trails already set up from Hawaii to Sydney, Paris and more. Plus if you get iFit Coach through the Manufacturer here, you can also get a Free iFit wearable and track even more of your activity, food and even sleep patterns to reach new health goals along the way.

Folding with Shock-Assisted Lift

You can easily fold the proform 995 treadmill up and out of the way for small workout areas or easy cleaning. There’s a shock-assisted lift mechanism that makes it much easier to fold – and saves the strain on your back.

Tablet Holder

With the sturdy bracket above the console, you can attach your tablet and watch your favorite TV shows or movies as you walk or run. Another small addition that can really make your workouts more enjoyable!

 30 Built-In Workouts

Don’t want to use iFit? No problem, there are 30 extra built-in workouts on the proform 995 treadmill you can use to build some extra challenge into your workout. They were designed by a certified personal trainer and focus on things like time, speed and incline goals.

iPod Dock

You can also plug in your iPod and play your favorite workout music through the built-in speakers.

Proform Power 995 Treadmill Review – Any Drawbacks?

iFit Coach Subscription

While you don’t need iFit to use the proform 995 treadmill, you will have to get the online subscription (about $99 a year) if you want all of the benefits of the iFit Coach service.

Also be aware that you’ll need to have your own tablet to connect to iFit and get all the benefits of the world trail scenery, etc.

Simple Console

The console is fairly simple on the porform 995 treadmill and not backlit. It gives you the basic stats of your workout but you don’t get the fancy console graphics on more expensive Proform models. The money on this machine went into tougher construction, not fancy gadgets.

Bottom Line?

The Proform 995 treadmill is a strong, substantial treadmill built for people who want an affordable machine without a lot of bells and whistles. As stated above, the money here really went into tough construction like a strong motor, longer belt and higher incline.

You do however get some entertainment options like the iFit capability, tablet holder and iPod dock – so most people will be more than happy with all of those tools.
